The Community of Madrid and Metro de Madrid are working to make public administration more accessible, transparent and responsive to the public. This initiative will make it easier for members of the public and businesses to submit applications, correspondence and documentation electronically to Metro de Madrid. The new tendering platform will enhance transparency, access to public information and equal opportunities in recruitment.

The Community of Madrid, through Metro de Madrid, is continuing to modernise its administrative services with the launch of a project to update its tender management platform, online portal and electronic register. This initiative is designed to facilitate the relationship between citizens and businesses and the company, and to strengthen compliance with legal obligations regarding e-government.

This initiative will enable Metro de Madrid to offer simple, more accessible and more efficient electronic channels for submitting applications, correspondence and documentation, making it easier for members of the public, professionals and businesses to carry out their administrative procedures quickly and securely, without having to travel, and with greater guarantees of monitoring and traceability.

The project began in January 2026 and is due to be completed during the first quarter of 2027. It has an investment budget of 438,450 euros (excluding VAT), 40 per cent of which is co-financed by the ERDF Programme 2021–2027, under the following policy objective: 1. A more competitive and smart Europe, promoting an innovative and smart economic transformation and regional connectivity to information and communications technologies; Priority 1a. Digital and smart transition; Specific Objective: RSO1.2. Harnessing the benefits of digitisation for citizens, businesses, research organisations and public administrations.

Furthermore, the initiative helps to ensure compliance with current regulations on e-government, thereby establishing a management model that is more modern, transparent and focused on providing public service. Thanks to this technological development, Metro will be able to offer a more customer-focused service tailored to the public’s current needs, improving access to information and streamlining administrative procedures.

In the field of public procurement, the new platform will reinforce the principles of transparency, openness and free competition, making it easier for businesses to access tenders and information regarding procurement processes. Integration into a single tool will enable more efficient management and greater visibility of recruitment opportunities, promoting equal access and business participation.

Furthermore, the consolidation of the various electronic channels and procedures will reduce administrative burdens, speed up the processing of applications and improve the user experience for both citizens and service providers, thereby contributing to more efficient and transparent administration.

Through this project, Metro de Madrid is reinforcing its commitment to the digital transformation of public services, bringing e-government closer to the public and strengthening confidence in the company’s management and recruitment processes.
