Airport
Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport currently has four terminals. You can easily access Metro de Madrid from any of them by means of the two stations located in the airport, Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 and Aeropuerto T4, both belonging to Line 8. The opening hours for the public are from 6 am to 1.30 am.
In order to travel on Metro de Madrid, you need a Public Transport Card and a valid ticket for your trip.
Public Transport Cards:
- Multi Public Transport Card. This card can be purchased from the automatic machines available at all Metro stations. The price of the card is €2.50.
- Personal Public Transport Card. This is a personalised card, so it cannot be purchased immediately at Metro de Madrid stations.
Tickets on the Multi Public Transport Card:
Passengers who purchase or have a Multi card to travel on Metro from Airport T1-T2-T3 and Airport T4 or to travel from any station in the network to these two stations, are required to purchase a valid ticket for their trip.

The Single ticket and Airport Supplement are valid only on the day of purchase and are considered valid until the end of the service, not the calendar day. If you try to use them the day after they are acquired, the validators will not let you through because they are out of date.
If you are going to use a Single ticket and 10-trip valid at airport stations, it is possible to have a maximum of:
- 10 matching Single tickets and 10 Airport Supplements
- or 2 tickets 10 matching trips and 20 Airport Supplements
on the same Public Transport Card. This enables a group of people to travel with the same Public Transport Card, with the sole condition that the passengers need to start and end the trip together.
There are vending machines at Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 station, where you can purchase the Multi card together with Single or 10-trip tickets (Metrobus or Combined) and the required Airport Supplements, in a quick and easy way. These machines are marked with the following identification.

Zone A: All transport options in fare zone A.
Zone T: All transport options in the Community of Madrid, including zones E1 and E2, except RENFE services to Toledo. Not valid on the Airport Express bus line.
For this ticket, you are not required to purchase the Airport Supplement.
It is a personal ticket, so each passenger is required to purchase their own ticket in order to travel and is valid for 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 7 consecutive calendar days, with the validity days starting to be deducted from the moment the first validation occurs. A Multi Public Transport Card needs to be charged individually, although the price of the card is included in the price of the ticket when purchased together. You are not required to purchase the Airport Supplement with this ticket.
Passengers aged between 4 and 11 can apply for the Children's Tourist Card, with a 50% discount.
The Tourist ticket can be purchased at Metro ticket machines and at the Customer Service Offices located in the Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 and Aeropuerto T4 stations. These offices are open from Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 8 pm.
There are vending machines at Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 station where you can buy the Multi card together with the tourist ticket, in a quick and easy way. These machines are marked with the following identification.
Tickets on the Personal Public Transport Card:
Passengers with a Personal Public Transport Card are required to have or purchase a valid ticket for their trip.
- Single and 10-trip: the Single and 10-trip tickets that can be topped up onto this card and are valid at airport stations are the same as for the Multi Public Transport Card. Similarly, if you travel with these tickets, you need to purchase the Airport Supplement. The Single ticket and Airport Supplement are only valid on the day of purchase.
- Tourist Ticket: it cannot be topped up on this card, you need to purchase a Multi card and the price of the card is included in the price of the ticket when purchased together.
- Season passes: you can also travel with this type of ticket. For this ticket, you are not required to purchase the Airport Supplement.
